MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Anti-Daesh fighting in Sirte resumed on Friday morning, the spokesperson said as cited by the Al Arabiya broadcaster on Saturday, adding that fourteen Libyan soldiers were killed and 33 were wounded.

The Libyan forces discovered four espionage planes used by Daesh at one of the group’s headquarters in Sirte, according to the spokesperson. In addition, computers and documents were found at the location, although no further details regarding the Daesh documents were provided.
Daesh gained a foothold in Libya in the turmoil following the 2011 ouster of the country’s longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi. The terror group is outlawed in the United States, Russia and other countries.
