GOA (Sputnik) – The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and National Indian Infrastructure Fund signed the agreement on establishing a fund of $1 billion to invest in Indian projects, the head of the RDIF said Saturday.
"We have signed the agreement with National Indian Infrastructure Fund, this is a sovereign Indian fund established recently to attract investment to India. We are setting up a joint fund [and] contribute $500 million each to make joint investments in India [in cooperation] with Russian companies and this fund," CEO Kirill Dmitriev said.
The deal was signed Saturday in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
