MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Paraguayan counterpart Eladio Loizaga will meet in Moscow on October 18 for a round of negotiations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Saturday.
"On October 16-18, at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Paraguayan Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga will pay a working visit to Russia. During the forthcoming talks scheduled on October 18, the heads of foreign affairs will discuss further development of bilateral political dialogue, including cooperation on the international stage, as well as the relevant issues of trade, economic, scientific, technology and cultural cooperation," the statement said.
Russia and Paraguay established diplomatic relations in 1909, however the relationship has been cut off during the Soviet period of Russia's history and restored only on May, 14, 1992, according to the Russian Embassy to Paraguay.
