At least 27 people were killed and more than 66 injured as a result of a Monday road accident involving two buses in eastern Pakistan, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The collision occurred near the settlement of Sahja at the Khampur road, The News International newspaper reported.

One of the buses was heading from Karachi to Bahawalpur while the other one – from Faisalabad to Sadiqabad.

People injured in the accident were reportedly sent to nearby hospitals. Other details of the incident including its causes remain unknown.
