Putin: Intention Behind French Vetoed Syria Resolution to Aggravate Situation
UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — The draft resolution on Syria provided by New Zealand is an interesting proposal and Russia is ready to take a closer look at it, Russia's Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said after a UN Security Council meeting on Syria.

"It’s an interesting effort, we will definitely look into it," Churkin stated on Monday.

The New Zealand mission to the United Nations told RIA Novosti that the draft resolution calls for an end to attacks that could lead to civilian casualties and infrastructure damage in Syria, particularly in the city of Aleppo.

Last week, the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations Matthew Rycroft said the UN Security Council was working on the producing a draft resolution on Syria.
