WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton would beat Republican rival Donald Trump by a 67 percent to 17 percent margin among Hispanic voters if the presidential election were held today, according to a new poll revealed on Monday.
“Trump's favorability among Latinos remains strikingly low,” an NBC News/Wall Street Journal report poll found. “The new poll shows that 80 percent view him negatively, compared with just 13 percent who view him positively.”
The poll also shows increasing interest among Hispanic voters in the US presidential election, probably a result of two Clinton-Trump debates thus far, the report accompanying the poll said.
More than eight in 10, or 82 percent of Latino voters, said they are absolutely certain to vote, the report noted.
Hispanic adults make up about 11 percent of the US population and have had low voter turnout rates in past presidential elections.
