MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Kremlin is giving a negative assessment to London’s and Washington’s rhetoric on possible sanctions against Russia in relation to Syria, but it is too early to speak of countermeasures, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
"[The Kremlin] treats it negatively," Peskov told reporters when asked a corresponding question.
Asked about countermeasures, the Kremlin spokesman said they were "not an end in itself," and speaking of them was premature.
He also said that the situation with possible EU sanctions against Russia on the issue was incomprehensible, and the phrasing of the issue was absurd.
