MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The political process on Syria has stalled but can be revived, including through expert-level work within the so-called Lausanne format, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Tuesday.
"You see yourselves how the situation is developing, the political process is by and large stalled, although the prospect is not closed," Ryabkov said.
He said the Russian, US, Saudi, Turkish and other officials that met in Lausanne over the weekend discussed renewing the cessation of hostilities and easing access to humanitarian aid.
"Now, we hope work can be continued at an expert level. For our part, we willing for it along all tracks, including at the military department," Ryabkov stressed.
