BEIJING (Sputnik) – China’s GDP maintained at 6,7 percent in the third quarter of 2016, the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a report Wednesday.
“According to the preliminary estimation, the gross domestic product (GDP) of China in the first three quarters of this year was 52,997.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7 percent at comparable prices. Specifically, the year-on-year growth was 6.7 percent for the first quarter, 6.7 percent for the second quarter and 6.7 percent for the third quarter,” the report said.
The third quarter results turned out to be better than expected, as some analysts predicted a slowdown of China’s GDP growth to 6,6 percent.
The country’s annual growth rate in 2015 was the worst in 25 years, at 6.9 percent of GDP compared to 7.3 the previous year.
