"I rule out the unilateral extension of the humanitarian pause jointly with the government of the Syrian Arab Republic. We have repeatedly emphasized through different channels that opponents of [Syrian President] Bashar Assad exploit the humanitarian pauses to regroup and obtain reinforcements," Ryabkov told reporters.
"This topic is being discussed today in Geneva by representatives of the military departments of the countries that participated in the ministerial meeting in Lausanne last Saturday. I am confident this will be one of the main issues," Ryabkov added.
Russia should not justify its actions in the Syrian city of Aleppo while the moderate opposition is yet to disengage from armed militants, Sergey Ryabkov added.
"They should be the ones to make excuses because to date no separation of Nusra from so-called moderates has been carried out. Anti-government forces have not been removed from Castello road, and other circumstances that show the double bottom, if not duplicity, in the policy carried out by this group of states," Ryabkov told reporters.
