MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The European Union should keep its options open regarding introduction of sanctions against Russia should crimes in Syria continue, European Council President Donald Tusk said Thursday.
"I want to underline that the EU should keep all options open, including sanctions, if the crimes continue," Tusk told reporters when asked regarding possible sanctions against Russia with regard to Syria.
Earlier in October, different European politicians, including Germany's special coordinator for Russia policy Gernot Erler brought the idea of introducing restrictions against Russia on the pretext of the worsening humanitarian situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
