US President Barack Obama could had known about Hillary Clinton's use of private server and email account for official business, while she served as secretary of state, despite his recent statements, one of the emails allegedly obtained by WikiLeaks from Clinton campaign chair John Podesta’s hacked account showed on Thursday.

WikiLeaks Dumps 13th Batch of Clinton Campaign Chair Podesta's Emails
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the whistleblowing website released the 13th portion of Podesta's emails.

"Suggest Philippe talk to [White House spokesmen] Josh [Earnest] or Eric [Schultz]. They know POTUS [President Of The United States] and HRC [Hillary Rodham Clinton] emailed. Josh has been asked about that. Standard practice is not to confirm anything about his email, so his answer to press was that he would not comment/confirm," Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri said in an email to Clinton's adviser Philippe Reines on March 8, 2015.

Palmieri added that she recollected that Earnest had also been asked if Obama ever noticed her personal account and the spokesman answered that POTUS had other things than to "focus on his Cabinet's email addresses."

The letters raise questions about the truth of Obama's words, who told The New York Times that he had learned about the case only in 2015. The publication of the newspaper was also the subject of discussion between Palmieri and Reines.

Republicans Demand US DoS Probe of ‘Quid Pro Quo’ Offer Regarding Clinton Email
The former secretary of state has been repeatedly criticized for the use of a private server and email address for official business during her tenure from 2009 until 2013, which resulted in share of more than 100 emails about highly classified information via her unsecured communications contrary to established rules.

In July, FBI Director James Comey described Clinton’s use of the email server as extremely careless, but said that her behavior did not warrant criminal charges.

In 2014, Clinton turned more than 55,000 emails to State Department investigators, claiming the documents represented all work-related emails from her private server. However, she destroyed, rather than hand over, more than 33,000 emails contrary to established US rules and regulations.
