Earlier on Friday, the organization also tweeted out a photo that claims to show "heavily armed 'police'" outside of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where founder Julian Assange has political asylum.

Major internet websites including Amazon, Twitter, Netflix, PayPal, and Spotify were shut down on Friday morning.
A US official speaking to CNBC said there is no indication that the attacks are state-sponsored, calling it a "classic case of internet vandalism."
While the attack predominently affected the Eastern Coast of the United States, other instances were reported in other parts of the country, as well as other parts of the world.
