MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On October 15, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that US President Barack Obama would consider a "proportional" response to what the United States considered cyberattacks by Russia on US institutions related to the upcoming elections. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called these accusations "bewildering."
"We have already made statements in this regard, we had been accused without any evidence. We do not interfere in internal affairs of other countries, we are committed to the rule of law. […] We do not interfere and do not make statements, which could be interpreted as interference in internal affairs," Dolgov told Sputnik.
On the same month, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed allegations of Russian involvement in the DNC cyberattack as "absurd," saying it was an attempt to "manically use" the issue of Russia in the US electoral campaign.
