Arctic Council Fulbright Scholars to Deliver Climate Change Research in US

Seventeen Fulbright scholars from eight Arctic Council nations, including Russia, will present research from their 18-month program during a series of events in Washington, DC this week, the US Department of State announced in a press release on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, the group will participate in a seminar hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, followed by a symposium hosted by the US National Academy of Sciences on Thursday, the release noted.

"Fulbright Arctic Week begins with an open house on Tuesday, October 25, at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, where Arctic scientists will engage with the public to discuss the challenges the region faces due to a changing climate," the release stated.

The scholars represent all eight nations on the Arctic Council: Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States, according to the release.
