MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The name of the contractor for the 1,281.9-1,415.1 kilometer stretch of Ukhta-Torzhok 2 pipeline, described as a key gas transmission infrastructure for Russia's Unified Gas Supply System, has not been disclosed.
On Monday, procurement data stated that Gazprom has awarded a contract without a tender to build 53.8 miles (along the 1,504.4-1591 kilometer stretch) of the pipeline for $204.47 million.
Ukhta-Torzhok 2 plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of the needed gas volumes to northwestern Russia for domestic consumption and export purposes, including in order to deliver natural gas into Nord Stream 2, according to Gazprom's website.
