MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia and the West have no ideological differences which could potentially lead to the new Cold War, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.
"We have no ideological differences which make the Cold War inevitable," Lavrov said, adding that at the same time "the hostility of our partners, including in the public domain, is even higher that it was during the Cold War."
He recalled that during that period a set of unspoken rules was in action, which the parties followed trying not to create situations that could be perceived as dangerous surprise by the other side"
"Now the situation is different, because the rules are subject to a great doubt," the minister stressed.
