MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Four people died Tuesday on a ride at Dreamworld theme park on the Australian Gold Coast, police confirmed after conflicting reports.
"Four adults have been confirmed as being deceased," police said, adding it was investigating an accident involving a conveyor belt.
Police previously said that the four were critically injured at Dreamworld, the Gold Coast’s biggest amusement park.
According to ABC News, the tragedy occurred in the afternoon on the Thunder River Rapids ride, which is a float trip for families. It goes down the river at a speed up to 28 mph.
