MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least 120 cadets and guards were wounded when three gunmen wearing suicide vests stormed the police training center late Monday in the troubled Balochistan region, the Dawn newspaper reported.
The attackers, believed to be from the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi al Almi militant group, opened fire inside the dormitory of the academy’s hostel, which housed 700 police recruits aged between 15 and 25.
Most of the deaths were reportedly caused by two blasts after the suicide bombers detonated their vests, the outlet said. The shooting triggered a four-hour security operation, which killed the remaining Islamist.
