MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Actual problems in the Syrian city of Aleppo and the need to help people there is being sacrificed for the sake of anti-Russia political agenda, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told journalists Tuesday.
"Trying to impose responsibility for the slippage and failures in this situation on the Russian side is a crime against the truth. Everyone who does it is well aware of what was happening, and it is regrettable that the real problems and the need to somehow ease the suffering of people who are there is being sacrificed for the political agenda and policies dominated by this anti-Russian agenda."
UN, Humanitarian Organizations Failed to Provide Medical Evacuation in Aleppo
As the situation in Aleppo remains tense, international humanitarian organizations, including the United Nations, fail to take necessary measures, in particular they did not provide medical evacuation from the besieged eastern part of the city, Ryabkov said.
"Humanitarian organizations, corresponding agencies, the United Nations and Geneva humanitarian experts, last week failed to perform their functions, to say the least, and did not provide what they had long been talking about. Namely, medical evacuation from eastern Aleppo," Ryabkov told reporters.
"And it would be wrong to say that [the situation] is changing, that we see some positive dynamics," he added.
