WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier this month, US President Barack Obama wrote an opinion piece in which he praised private-public partnerships in space exploration and set the goal of sending humans to Mars by the 2030s.
"I will free NASA from the restriction serving primarily as a logistics agency for low-earth orbit activity," Trump stated on Tuesday. "Instead we will refocus its mission on space exploration."
Trump also noted that part of his policy would include maximizing funding for space exploration through public and private partnerships.
Florida is home to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral which is the center of the US human spaceflight program.
