ANKARA (Sputnik) – Police teams and ambulances were sent to the scene where a car bomb was alleged to have detonated, according to the NTV broadcaster, which did not specify the casualty numbers. The news channel said an event was scheduled to be held at the ATSO with the mayor of Antalya on Tuesday.
At least 10 people have suffered minor injuries in a parking lot explosion near the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) in the southern Turkish resort city of Antalya, the city's mayor said Tuesday.
"Ten to 12 people lightly injured by broken glass, their life is not threatened. Police are determining the cause of the explosion," Menderes Turel told Haberturk broadcaster.
"It is too early to say whether it was a terrorist attack. This is the first thing that comes to mind, but perhaps the explosion occurred as a result of an accident," Menderes Turel told CNN Turk broadcaster.
"The explosion occurred in the parking lot, which was deserted. There are those who were lightly injured by glass, because the explosion smashed some of the glass in the building," the mayor added.
