MOSCOW (Sputnik) – West Ham, which defeated Chelsea 2-1, slammed the incident as unacceptable, while the losing club expressed its disappointment over the disturbances.
"Despite extensive work with both clubs and the London Stadium partners as well as a large and robust policing operation, there were unacceptable incidents inside and outside the stadium, before, during and after the game. We have already made seven arrests and will work tirelessly to identify people involved and bring them to justice," Harrington said, as quoted by the Press Association news agency.
According to the media outlet, the arrests were carried out for public order offenses. As many as 30 people were issued with directions to disperse under antisocial behavior legislation before the match, the agency reported.
