WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, Pentagon official revealed to the Washington Post on condition of anonymity that the United States had been secretly using an army base in Tunisia to operate intelligence missions in Libya.
"We deny these reports and we do not have any American military base in Tunisia,” Abbes stated. "It is just a kind of cooperation, a training operation between the two countries."
Earlier in the day, Tunisian Defense Ministry spokesman Belhassen Oueslati told Sputnik that the country did not allow the United States to use a base of the national army to operate drone missions against Daesh positions in Libya.
