“We will pay much attention to the situation in Syria and around it. Recent developments once again prove that we need to fight terrorism with no compromises, consistently, not succumbing to provocations, of which there are more and more now,” the Russian minister said.
“Our cooperation in the regional affairs, including on the fights against terrorism and extremism, we have a common approach to that,” Zarif said.
Lavrov stressed also that the ministers would have a chance to discuss the situation very closely, focusing on all aspects, including the humanitarian issue, fight against terrorism, and re-launch of a negotiations process.
Zarif and Lavrov are currently holding talks in Moscow, mostly focusing on the Syrian crisis. Later, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem will also join the discussion.
