WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In an alert from Google dated March 19, 2016, Podesta was told, “Someone just used your password to try to sign in to your Google Account” from internet address 134.249.139.239, which indicated the location as Ukraine.
Following that message, Clinton campaign technician Charles Delavan wrote, also on March 19: “This is a legitimate email. John needs to change his password immediately, and ensure that two-factor authentication is turned on his account. It is absolutely imperative that this is done ASAP.”
Including Friday’s batch, WikiLeaks since October 8 has posted nearly 36,000 emails involving Podesta and other Democratic Party figures. Prior to joining Clinton’s campaign, Podesta worked in the private sector and before that was President Bill Clinton’s chief of staff from 1998 to 2001.
The US intelligence community, Carlin added, must have been highly confident in its assessments to release it publicly.
In July, US media alleged that investigators blamed Russian-linked hackers for a breach of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) email system that revealed party officials colluded to support Hillary Clinton’s election campaign. Russian authorities, including President Vladimir Putin have repeatedly denied the claims.
