The team of the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was dissatisfied with the leaks of some bits of the former State Secretary’s emails and wanted to ease the scandal by publishing the extended version, the WikiLeaks website revealed Saturday, citing top foreign policy adviser and chairman of Clinton’s electoral campaign Jake Sullivan.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the emails, the Clinton’s team believed, that one of the members of the investigation commission was responsible for the leaks of information, turning the journalists against the Democratic nominee.

"The committee is leaking particular bits of information. Would be worth someone convincing State to just launch," Sullivan said in an email addressed to Clinton's campaign chair John Podesta on March 19, 2015.

On Friday, FBI Director James Comey told members of the US Congress in a letter that the bureau had found additional emails relevant to its investigation into Clinton’s use, as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, of a private email server. FBI investigators will determine whether the newly uncovered emails contain classified information, Comey wrote.

Clinton has been criticized for using the private server and email account for official business during her tenure as the United States' top diplomat. In July, Comey described Clinton’s conduct as extremely careless but said it did not warrant criminal charges.
