MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis will pay a working visit to Moscow on October 31 to discuss the EU-Russia relations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The ministers also plan to consider the priorities of the Cypriot chairmanship of the Council of Europe that will last from November 22, 2016 to May 19, 2017 and discuss a number of other issues.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the stances of Russia and Cyprus overlap in many issues.
Both countries underscore the importance of returning to a constructive cooperation between Russia and the European Union, strengthening of the central role of the United Nations in international relations as the universal institution for maintenance of peace and security.
