According to the major Japanese daily Asahi Shimbun reports, the incident took place on June 12. An office tenant who ordered the Rolex watch opted to pay by COD (cash on delivery), something which is quite unusual for such a high-priced item.
When the delivery arrived, one of the fighting gang members immediately grabbed the watch but continued to point his gun at his counterpart who shouted threateningly toward the couriers, “We’re in the middle of something! Go home!”
And they did so. But not before taking both the watch and the men’s guns with them. One of the canny couriers noticed that the scene being played before them involved toy guns. It seems the clients were trying to run a scam, preferring to stage a make-believe shooting than paying for the watch in cash.

When the two gangsters made a run for it, the deliverymen called the police. The ‘armed and dangerous yakuza members’ were finally arrested on 27 October.
The funny thing is that they were actually yakuza members and belong to a Matsubakai affiliated gang. During the interrogation, one of them told police, “I have never met anyone as tough as those deliverymen.”
