"We are expecting that the cooperation of China and Russia is going to be a very strong driving force for regional and international construction and economic development in the future," Lu said on the sidelines of the Russian-Asian International Business Forum in Moscow.
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s calls to integrate the work of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt would bring a lot of benefits to the two countries, as well as Asia and Far East, where it would attract investments and help revive economic development while the world economy is experiencing a recession.
Both countries are members of the BRICS association of five emerging economies — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and co-founders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a Eurasian economic and security bloc.
