17:23 GMT 01.11.2016 (Updated: 17:28 GMT 01.11.2016) Two German Tornado jets had to make a forced landing in northern Iraq on Monday due to a technical defect, the German press reported.
Commenting on the news, German officials said that the jets succesfully returned to the Incirlik Air Base after refuelling.
Earlier last month, the Defense Ministry released a report revealing that only 29 of Germany's 66 Tornado jets in operation were airworthy.
