'They Are a Bit Hasty': Russia Has Not Yet Cleared Turkish Citrus for Imports
10:29 GMT 01.11.2016 (Updated: 04:57 GMT 26.11.2022) Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has not yet approved citrus imports from Turkey despite claims indicating otherwise, Assistant to the Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Alexei Alexeyenko said Tuesday.
MOSCOW/ANKARA (Sputnik) — Turkish Agriculture Ministry Secretary Omer Eksi told RIA Novosti in Ankara earlier in the day that citrus product deliveries to Russia began last week.
"They are a bit hasty with their statements. They can prepare contracts for future deliveries, but the decision will be made after our inspection which will take place this week," Alexeyenko said in Moscow.
