Several hundreds of French police officers participated in protest against the work of the government and unions, according to local media.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Several hundreds of French police officers staged a protest in central Paris over dissatisfaction with the work of the government and unions, local media reported Wednesday.

The protesters gathered late on Tuesday near the famous museum of Louvre and were chanting "hands off my police," "I am a policeman and proud of it," the Francetvinfo online news outlet reported.

French police officers have been protesting for the past several weeks following an incident in Viry-Chatillon, a southern suburb of Paris, on October 8. A fight which broke out between a group of youth and police resulted in a 28-year-old policeman suffering severe burns.
