WASHINGTON (Sputnik), Michael Hughes — US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is a dealmaker who will look to negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement with Moscow on anti-Russian sanctions, US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher told Sputnik.
“Donald Trump will do everything he can to produce a better relationship between our countries,” Rohrabacher said. “Whatever sanctions they have on Russia right now will probably be negotiable and we can try to find a pathway that benefits Russia but benefits the United States.”
Trump is a dealmaker, Rohrabacher added, and is not someone who sees a horrible situation and doubles down to make things 100 times worse.
US Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam Szubin headed to Europe on Monday to discuss anti-Russia sanctions with European counterparts, the US Treasury Department announced in a press release.
In 2014, the United States along with the European Union and some other countries imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia over its involvement in the Ukrainian crisis, a claim which Moscow has repeatedly denied.
