Obama’s Support for Clinton Undaunted by Latest Email Revelations
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US public should not seek to reach conclusions before the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) releases the full information of its new investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails because of established norms in the United States not to operate on incomplete information or leaks, President Barack Obama said in an interview on Wednesday.

"I do think that there is a norm that when there are investigations, we don't operate on innuendo," Obama told the NowThis News. "We don't operate on incomplete information. We don't operate on leaks. We operate based on concrete decisions that are made."

Obama recalled that in July, the FBI investigated emails Clinton send and received on a private server and private devices during her tenure as secretary of state — contrary to US laws — and determined that though she acted very carelessly, criminal charges against her were not warranted.

Clinton had erased 33,000 that she was legally required to return to the State Department and had sent or received classified information via the private server.

Obama, however, claimed the controversy surrounding Clinton prior to the US presidential election was excessively overblown.

Last week, FBI Director James Comey told US lawmakers that the Bureau had found additional correspondence relevant to its probe Clinton’s use of a non-government email server and devices. Additional 650,000 emails have been stored on the computer used by Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner.
