ROME (Sputnik) – The quake hit at about 00:35 GMT on Thursday. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), the USGS said.
A RIA Novosti correspondent reported that the earthquake was felt in Rome.
There have been no reports of damages or casualties.
On Sunday, Italy was hit by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake. Several powerful tremors followed the initial earthquake, which was the most powerful to hit Italy since 1980. The natural disaster did not lead to any casualties, but left thousands without shelter, causing destruction in about 100 cities.
