MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia has sufficient resources to respond to unfriendly US activities in the cyberspace, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Thursday.
"The issue of cybercrime stays hot. Unfortunately, a deliberate artificial politicization of this topic is taking place, including in terms of creating an atmosphere in which even a threat to our security is being discussed. It does no credit to the US administration. We have sufficient resources to monitor possible unfriendly hostile activities in the information space. If such steps were taken, of course it would be a new and very serious blow to the relations between Moscow and Washington," Ryabkov told journalists.
Earlier in October, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security announced Washington was “confident” the Russian government had directed the recent compromises of US political organizations.
