Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy held a meeting with King Felipe VI on Thursday to announce the composition of the new government at Zarzuela Palace, local media reported.

Rajoy Loses First Round of Spain's Parliament Vote to Secure PM's Post
MOSCOW (Sputnik) —According to La Vanguardia news outlet, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo y Marfil and Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz will not be a part of the new Spanish Cabinet.

A new 13-member cabinet includes Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria, who will take charge of relations with country’s autonomous regions, Foreign Affairs Minister Alfonso Dastis and Minister of Defense María Dolores de Cospedal, the news outlet said.

Rajoy named Rafael Catalá the new Minister of Justice, while Cristobal Montoro was named Minister of Finance. Juan Ignacio Zoido was appointed as the Minister of Interior and Inigo de la Serna was named the Development Minister. Íñigo Méndez de Vigo will head the Education Ministry, while Fatima Banez will take charge of the Employment and Social Security Ministry.

Alvaro Nadal was appointed as the Energy Minister, while Isabel García Tejerina was named the Agriculture Minister. Luis de Guindos will now head the Economy Ministry.

Rajoy arrived at the Palace at around 6 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT), the media reported.

On Saturday, Spain’s lower house of parliament known as the Congress of Deputies approved the appointing Rajoy, who sought reelection as the country's prime minister.

Rajoy’s candidacy was upheld by 170 votes, 68 lawmakers abstained from voting and 111 voted against. The second round of voting required a simple majority to grant Rajoy his second term in office.
