Trump Just Two Points Behind Clinton After FBI Reopens Email Probe
NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton leads Republican Donald Trump among likely voters in the US presidential election in five days, but her three-point margin indicates the race is as tight as ever, a new poll revealed Thursday.

A total of 45 percent of respondents said they would vote for Clinton, compared with 42 percent who favor Trump, the New York Times/CBS News poll found. The difference falls within the survey’s margin of error, making the race a statistical tie.

The poll also found that Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson has 5 percent support among probable voters while Green Party candidate Jill Stein draws 4 percent.

Throughout October, Clinton managed to increase her lead, helped by the release early in the month of a 2005 video in which Trump lewdly described sexual aggression toward women, a description of the poll noted. However, Trump has appeared to regain support in the wake of a recently reopened federal investigation of Clinton’s email practices as US secretary of state.

More than 22 million Americans have already cast ballots through early voting programs in several states.
