Over 50 Chinese soldiers arrived on Thursday in the region of Ladakh, demanding to stop the activities, since any construction along the Line of Actual Control, which is the de facto border between India and China, should be agreed, NDTV channel reported.
Indian workers were forced to stop the work and called the troops to prevent further invasion of the Chinese soldiers into the Indian territory, according to the news outlet.

Indian side reportedly sent about 70 servicemen to fortify the border region, saying that the agreement related only to military objects.
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman also denied the stand-off.
“I am not aware of such incidents, but even if something like that did happen, there are, as you know, established mechanisms to resolve these situations, thanks to which there have been no major incidents lately, at least on our border with China. I urge not to make up front-pagers out of things taken out of context,” the spokesperson said.Tensions over the canal construction sparked in 2014, since China and India could not agree where the Line of Actual Control definitely lies.
