Kusturica, world-acclaimed filmmaker, actor and musician, praised the Russian leader during a press meeting in Moscow ahead of Friday’s ceremony in the Grand Kremlin Palace where President Putin will present state decorations to a number of foreign citizens.
“I consider this as a great award because it comes from President Vladimir Putin who has restored a sense of balance to world politics,” Kusturica said, speaking Russian.
He also said that he would like to come back again and “make a film here in Russia.”
“I am full of new ideas and I just don’t know which one to go for right now,” Kusturica added.
“My films have always been made in Serbia, one I did in Britain and now I want to make a Russia and French ones too,” said Emir Kusturica who has twice won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and holds dual Serbian and French citizenship.
