WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Voters’ perceptions of media bias also serve as good indicators of their respective party affiliations, the release explained.
"Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump frequently accuses the media of biasing its coverage of the 2016 election campaign in favor of his Democratic opponent," a press release accompanying the Gallup organization’s poll stated. "A majority of registered voters (52 percent) agree with the Republican nominee."
According to the poll, 63 percent of respondents who identified themselves as Democrats said they didn’t think the media have favored either candidate, but 80 percent of Republicans perceived a pro-Clinton bias.
The US presidential election will take place on November 8.
