WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Forty-year-old sergeant with the New York Police Department died from a gunshot wound to the head, NBC 4 New York reported on Friday.
The two officers were shot in the line of duty, the New York Police Department announced earlier via Twitter. The message explained the two officers were shot in the New York borough of Bronx and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The suspect was also killed in the shootout, sources told NBC 4 New York.
