MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Relations between Russia and the United States are going through serious challenges, but existing cultural ties give hope for their restoration, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday at the awards ceremony on National Unity Day.
“This is particularly important today, when our relations with the United States are going through serious challenges. This shows that in our countries, in Russia and in the United States there are people who cherish relations with each other, respect and love US, Russian cultures. This unites us, gives hope for a full restoration of relations for the interests of our people,” Putin said.
