MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A mob blocked the entrance to the Embassy’s Consular Office by piling mannequin arms and handcuffing themselves to the gate in protest against the Russian air campaign in Syria, while the phone line was swarmed by nuisance callers.
"It is really tragic that British authorities are manipulating their citizens and that London has showed such contempt for democratic institutions," Maria Zakharova told Russia’s REN TV channel.
The protest took place less than a month after British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson called on anti-war organizations to protest outside the Russian Embassy, during a parliament speech devoted to a deadly attack on an aid convoy near Syria’s Aleppo.
