MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A 31-year-old Toronto man died at the hospital after Canadian police used a stun gun on him, the Special Investigations Unit said.
"SIU called to investigate a death following interaction btwn TPS [Toronto Police Service] officers & a man. St. Clair and Old Weston Rd area," SIU said via Twitter, elaborating in a later post that "The man was pronounced dead at hospital."
Toronto police Const. Victor Kwong told CBC that police received a 911 call on Friday describing a man armed with two knives screaming.
The SIU has not confirmed that the man was armed.
Nobody else was harmed as a result of the incident.
