MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to media reports, the unrest involving up to 200 inmates started at the Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) Bedford at about 17:00 GMT on Sunday.
"Specially trained staff are working with the emergency services to resolve an ongoing incident involving a number of prisoners at HMP Bedford," the spokesman said Sunday, as quoted by the Metro newspaper.
The official added that the prisoners involved in the incident would be punished and their jail terms would be increased.
