“Russian Aerospace Forces carried out no flights November 7 in the named districts and did not make any strikes. The information published in the media is a regular fake,” the ministry said in a statement.
Turkey's Anadolu Agency disseminated the erroneous reports of Russian strikes on the suburban Damascus areas earlier on Monday.
In September 2015, Russia started an aerial campaign in war-torn Syria authorized by the Syrian government to assist Damascus in the fight against extremists, most notably the Daesh terror group, which is outlawed in Russia and many other counties.
The civil war in Syria between government forces and a range of insurgents, including opposition groups and terrorists, has raged for some five years and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
