MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, media reported that the Iraqi army, liberated Hammam al-Alil, seized by Daesh in 2014.
"The IS [Daesh] militants continue to commit crimes against our people. So, after liberation of Hammam Al-Alil region, the Iraqi forces stumbled upon a new crime committed by the terrorists in the building of an agricultural college — the bodies of 100 beheaded citizens," the press service of the Iraqi army command said in a statement, as quoted by the Alsumaria television channel.
According to the statement, special commission would be sent on the ground "to investigate this horrific crime."
The operation to retake Mosul from Daesh terrorists, outlawed in many countries including Russia, started on October 17. The offensive has already resulted in the liberation of large territories and prompted many terrorists to flee Iraq.
