According to investigators, on November 1, a man sexually assaulted the teen in an elevator of a residential building in Moscow.
"A US citizen born in 1969 was detained on suspicion of committing the crime [sexual assault]. In the near future he will be questioned by investigation authorities to determine his involvement in this crime," the Russian Investigative Committee said.
If the guilt of the US citizen is proven, he may be imprisoned for up to three years.
